Technical Helpdesk / 2nd Level Support

We are looking to recruit an experienced IT Support specialist to join our growing team.
Working core office hours on site at our head offices in Handforth you will work within the team providing both desktop and server based support to our helpdesk customers with technical support contracts.
You will be expected to work within the IT support team to manage all open calls and where possible provide solutions; when this is not possible you will follow clearly defined procedures and escalation routes to ensure that all helpdesk calls are resolved promptly.
Support Helpdesk Vacancy - Key Requirements
Excellent communications skills, teamwork, strong technical and analytical skills as well as attention to detail are all important.
Experience of the following would be advantageous:
- Microsoft Windows Server and Client Operating Systems
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft Terminal Services
- Citrix Presentation Server
- VMWare (vSphere, VI3 and VDI)
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Lotus Domino
- Veritas
- Anti-virus products
- ITIL
The successful candidate will have prior experience of a second level IT support role, demonstrating product specialisation in two of the following areas:
- Microsoft (MCSA or MCSE)
- VMWare (VCP)
- Citrix (CCEA)
- Networking (CCNA)
Where formal qualifications have not been obtained, demonstrable relevant experience will also be considered, as where necessary training will be provided to ensure that you are proficient in the areas you will be required to support.
Note that some UK travel is to be expected. The ideal candidates will live locally to South Manchester / Cheshire.
