RPG / Synon Developer Vacancy

We are looking to recruit an experienced and versatile RPG / Synon Developer to join our growing team.
The key purpose will be to develop quality software on time and to budget for internal and external customers.

RPG / Synon Developer - Key Requirements

You will have an in-depth knowledge of relevant programming languages and understand the factors affecting software performance. You will have the ability to design and write code that is maintainable, extensible and efficient.

  • Strong skills in both RPG (including ILE concepts) and SYNON
  • Solid experience in structured programming
  • Proficiency in using other associated tools (SDA, SEU, PDM, DDS etc)
  • Good working knowledge of SQL, CL, Query tools
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to write clear Functional Specification and Technical Design documents based on the requirements
  • Commitment to writing and maintaining quality code based on the technical specification
  • At least 3-5 yrs of IT experience in AS400 legacy systems
  • Experience of GUI tools (Lansa preferred) and Web Services
  • Other skills such as C#, xml, html etc. would also be useful

Note that some UK travel is to be expected. The ideal candidates will live locally to South Manchester / Cheshire.
